A stunning vintage 1930's Old-Hollywood era jet-black rayon crepe evening gown by Frenchshire. The gown is beautifully constructed (possibly demi-couture as the handwritten number #1152 is sewn into the neckline). Starting with the gorgeous illusion neckline (double layer black on flesh-tone fine net) embellished with an extraordinary beaded floral silver tone applique with rhinestones, sequins, bugle beads & tiny round beads in shade of lilac & lavender that cascade down from each shoulder and further onto the left side of the bust. The sleeves are generous cap style with 2" slits. The back of the gown has a total of 12 covered buttons; 5 at the nape and the other 7 just above the waist leaving a 10" slit down the center, exposing just a peek of the back in the sexy elegance of the era. 7' metal zipper below waist buttons. The back of the skirt has a gathered/train effect 17" from hem that creates that swishing sashay effect when walking or better yet, doing the tango. There are two thin thread belt-loops but the original belt is n/a. Could easily be snipped off if preferred worn without a belt. This is a stunning gown in amazing condition for being 80+ years old.
