Add some mid-century modern to your office with this fabulous vintage Autodex Starlite List Finder. This one is the brown and gold S-800, in it's original box (with such fabulous vintage fonts!), with the original pencil, & unlined plain memo pad set into the base. It also has the instruction sheet in tact. This item was manufactured by Zephyr American Corp., which was located at 95 Morton St., NY, NY. They were makers of rolodex rotary card files. This specific model was designed by the late Ken White (Associates). You can read more about Mr. White's illustrious career as a planner, designer, author & publisher here. Mr. White's archival collection is with the Hagley Museum and Library. They have a model X-800 in green, which they date to the 1970's. If the models were released alphabetically, then this model is most likely early 1960's (see the ad photo from a 1960 Christmas catalog for Robertson's Department Store). The slider on the right is used to navigate to the initial you need, and when you press the bar at the bottom, it springs open to that page. It also has a spring mechanism in the back, which, when pressed, allows the address book to lay down flat so you can take notes on the memo pad. The back is covered with fine black felt to prevent surface scratches. It's in pristine, unused condition. The box does have some staining, and the two top corners of the cover are split open. But other than that, it's in mint condition. Don Draper approved.
